No Cooler, Aug 15, 2009
reviewer: Joe from Huntsville, AL.
Great course. Very convenient. Ok greens. I have played tournaments and regular golf there. Last year you could rent a cooler. Now, all you get is a plastic bag with ice. (lasts about three holes in the heat) If no personal coolers are allowed, the least they could do is rent them. If you play here during the summer prepare to be thirsty!

Not Bad, Aug 28, 2008
reviewer: PS from Huntsville
I regularly visit this course with at least one of my friends. We are both in our mid 20s and have never had any problems with management. Everyone is very friendly. They tend to run out of coolers very fast however, so cold beverages can be a problem if they are out. I would consider both of us average to above average golfers and we do just fine on this course. Some holes are much more forgiving than others but overall it is an excellent municipal course.

This place could be so much better, Jun 14, 2008
reviewer: Joe from Huntsville, AL
The course is laid out well. Lots of risk reward which is really fun if you can blast it. It does has it's problems. Consistently the slowest pace of play ever. Rangers do a terrible job keeping up pace of play and often you have to wait past your tee time to hit it. Greens are also inconsistent. It's only marginally cheaper than RTJ Hampton Cove with a trail card and that course is always in better shape. This place COULD be an excellent course and I wish they'd just tighten a few things up.

POORLY RUN, Oct 12, 2007
reviewer: Shay from Hsv, AL
I and 4 other guests experienced the worst service possible. The older man inside cashiering was very rude and threw the cartkey to us.He proceeded to harrass us by having a young boy follow us hole to hole to make sure there was only 4 playing and not 5 of us.He then refused us to see any rules and regulations as he proceeded to ask us to leave. On our way in to the clubhouse we noticed there was a group of 5 teeing off on hole 18 that he let play with no problems. We felt we were discriminated against because of our age, mid 20's, while others playing were obviously older. We brought friends that were visiting the Huntsville are to this golf course and this did not leave a great impression of them or the HSV area.I suggest new attitudes in the cashier area.Awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great Value!, Jul 04, 2007
reviewer: Daryl from Huntsville, Al
This course is one of the best municipal courses I've ever played, and I've been all over the country. It is well maintained and great for the beginning and intermediate golfer. Water, sand, elevated tees and greens, and enough trees to make things interesting if you don't keep the ball in the fairway. Don't hit a (right-handed) draw on 1 and 2, or you may have to make an early trip back to the pro shop for more golf balls. Traffic noise may be an issue on the #4 tee, as it parallels the access road of HWY 231S. Block it out, and you'll have a lot of fun!

Course is in excellent shape. Course layout is good. Challenging but fair, with some forgiveness for less than perfect shots.

Good municipal course, Jun 13, 2004
reviewer: Gator Greg from Atlanta GA
Varied hole layouts and nice greens make this a good municipal course to play. It is also very reasonably priced, and has both difficult and easy holes for golfers of all skill levels. Summer twighlight rate of $10.00 PER CART after 5:30 make this course worth the trip especially with the kids.
