This very scenic course is nestled on the shore of Lake Erie, and the constant wind off the lake makes club selection difficult. The design features large, well-manicured, rolling greens, well-maintained fairways and large, sculptured sand bunkers. There are also water hazards that come into play at least thirteen times. During your round, you may encounter herons, geese, swans, turtles, deer and possibly a resident bald eagle, which resides at the adjacent State Nature Preserve, Sheldon Marsh.

Sawmill Creek is way over priced. $80 for this? In Michigan this would be a $20 muni with cart. Greens were in good shape and rolled well, but the rest of the course was not in terribly good shape. Many of the holes were dull and uninteresting. A few fun holes, but hardly enough to make up the difference. The course is worth playing, but not at this price. Also no driving range.

This is a very hilly course that is not too long. The greens are small and will yield many 3 putts if you are in the wrong spot. There are a lot of risk reward holes to make birdies or double bogeys. With small fast greens and the hilly terain, anything around par is a great score the average player with a 14 handicap should expect to play around 83 golf. Well maintaned golf course, good food and service in the dinning room. The pro shop staff is very professional and accomidating. The best thing is the cheap cart(highly reccomend to take one) and green fees less then $40 a player. This is my second favorite thing to do on a Penn State football weekend, of course the Nittany Lions are the first thing.

VERY NICE COURSE FOR THE $$.THE GREENS ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION.SOME FAIRWAYS ARE TIGHT AND TREE LINED.THE COURSE IS MORE DIFFICULT THAN THE RATING OF 113(MORE LIKE A 125 TO 127 FROM THE BACK TEES).IT CAN USE A FEW MORE SAND TRAPS,BUT THERE ARE ENOUGH TREES AND WATER TO KEEP YOU HONEST.
