This hilly course has wide open fairways and small greens. There is a river that flows throughout the course which comes into play on a few holes. This is an excellent place for beginners to take up the game or for experience golfers who enjoy a brisk walk. The ladies' tee does not have a course rating.

Most scenic in adirondacks!, Jan 09, 2005

I know that phraze is overused, but for this course it is an understatement. Mountains, river and wildlife abound on this moderate 9 hole course. The price is right (under $15 for 9) to take the whole family. Course offers some challenges like a 500 yard + third hole to the 9th where you must hit up a steep 40 foot hill to a blind green. Oh, and enjoy the putting on 6!

"3 today 4-5 tomorrow"
18 months ago this course was finally purchased by someone who really wanted to make a statement about the course. They finally finished off the exiting log structure into a beautiful clubhouse/restaurant/bar. With fantastic views of the course, there are few clubhouses that can beat this "19th hole". The course itself did need some work, the greens looked like they had had some issues over the winter. There are plans underway to relocate holes 8 & 9 (which is a good thing, they are probably the most blah holes on the course) and build a 60 room hotel. All-in-all the course is still one of my favorite courses up in GR. Some TLC to the greens and this course is one of the best in northern Minnesota.

I dont know exactly what "Troon golf" is. But, I do know this course has a few elevated T boxes that make the whole LOOK a lot easier than it is. Bring extra balls.
