This course is of a traditional design with large greens and fairways. The greens are mildly undulating, with slightly rolling terrain that runs in and out of trees in some areas. The course is surrounded by farmland in some areas and forests in others. Water comes into play on fifteen holes, and the course is very well bunkered. Hole #18, a 469-yard, par 4, presents a challenging finish as the fairway doglegs sharply to the left.

First Timer at Charlotte National, May 11, 2009
reviewer: Kenneth Washington from Mint Hill, NC USA
I was invited to play this awesome course on this past Saturday. I've been in the Charlotte area for about 4 years now. I've played a number of courses(mostly the nicer ones)and after seeing Charlotte National it was like..."where have you been all my life"(lol). Seriously, I've been telling co-worker all day today about this wonderful golf course back in the woods(lol). What a gem, no doubt they'll be seeing me alot more!

I like this course a lot., Jul 22, 2004
reviewer: Jose Kuhn from matthews, nc
This course is deceptive. After playing shorter and narrow courses I relaxed when I saw the huge fairways. The green's bit me in the butt. They are huge and fast. I had not been practicing 30-50 ft putts and I ended up three putting alot. The practive areas are great.
