This spectacularly tree-laden eighteen hole course is hilly and features numerous elevation changes. The River Rouge runs through the layout, affecting nine holes. The course also has extensive marshlands that comes into play on fourteen holes. Most of the fairways are lined with a variety of mature trees. The greens are flat and average in size, so they roll very true. The course is expansive as it spreads through a lush valley. The signature hole is #6, a 390-yard, par 4, featuring a dogleg fairway that bends to the left, an elevated green and a marshland area on the left. The green is also well-bunkered.

GREAT COURSE, Mar 25, 2010 |

| this course is similar to an up north style course, not too much of the outside world is visible. Just a scenic location and challenging enough. |

Diamond in the rough, Mar 28, 2009 |

| I must say that this course offers a lot of everything you want to see from a golf course. There are a few things i would change, but as a whole like it is, there aren't too many changes needed. I am a fairly new golfer and have played about a dozen courses. This one ranks in my top 3 so far. I play it more often than any other course because of the scenery, and the challenges it offers. It is not a long course, so the short hitters can enjoy this one just like the big guys. And through the last 3 years, I have never had a round take longer than 4.5 hours. Maybe some days like holidays it could take 5.5 hours, but for the most part pace of play isn;t too bad. Plus the wetlands and water can make for long day it you aren't striking the ball well. Overall I give this course 4 stars. Good course and I recommend it for the amateurs, and seasoned golfers alike. |

| I play all over SE Michigan and I think this is one of the jewels. It is a real challenge, but the different tee boxes can make it enjoyable for golfers of every skill level. You won't be disappointed! |

Yardage markers needed..., Aug 18, 2008 |

| This course teeters on being rated much higher than the two stars I gave it, if for only a few minor improvements. Beautiful fairways, very nice greens and an overall a nice layout are a great start. However, Inkster Valley apparently has issue with providing yardage markers on crucial holes. There are at least three holes with blind tee shots that demand 150 yard stakes. Placing these markers would immediately improve pace-of-play, which is horrible. I played this course twice this year and at least as many times in each of the last four years, and each time pace-of-play was bad. expect to spend a minimum 5 1/2 hours to finish the 18 holes. Three 4 X 4 posts, maybe 3 feet tall, marking off the 150 yard distance would solve some of the pace-of-play issues. Then, golfers would not waste their time asking staff, riding around in "Player Assistant" marked golf carts, to move slow groups around. The staff does NOTHING to improve pace-of-play. You ask for help, then watch them ride off into the distance, never speaking to the obviously slow groups. A few pieces of wood with 150 painted on them apparently is out of the question. One other thing, play with a local that can show you interesting points on the property as Inkster Valley occupies, in part, the grounds to a former mental hospital. Heck, for as long as you'll be on the property, enough time will be spent learning about the hospital you will probably qualify as an expert tourguide yourself... |

An oasis in the middle of the city, May 03, 2008 |

| The Inkster Valley Golf Course is one of the most beautiful sights to see in southeastern Michigan. The course is impeccably and professionally maintained. It started out as little more than a cow pasture, but in the last few years has turned into a top-notch course that could easily compete with any course you would see at the pro tournaments on TV. Many kudos and thanks to the grounds crew! |

EXTREME slow play, Jul 08, 2007 |

from Plymouth, Mi. |
| Played there last Friday (7-6-07). Teed off at 9:30 and did not finish until 3:00 (5-1/2 hrs) To many bushes in front of the tees and BLIND shots to the fairways. Had to wait on every hole. The staff seemed unconcerned. |
