This course places a strong emphasis on course management because the golfer must always be thinking of his next shot. Every hole is different, so even the most experienced golfer will find this course a challenge. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 3rd "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. This club hosted the 1993 Mid-Atlantic Men�s Tournament. Players are allowed to walk the course only on weekdays.

Whispering Pines Golf Club
"Childhood Hole in One"
I got my hole-one-on the par-3 7th. Its the kind of hole that it could happen any day to any of us. And hey, thats gotta be worth something!!! The green is two tiered and the top tier is hard to stay on, the ball likes to role down to the bottom, always where the pin is. You tee off from above, the hole is about 120 yrds I think. So, get it on the green, watch it role and you've got yourself a chance my friend! Overall, the course is a 9 holer and its fun. Golf period...is fun, come on right.

I find this course extremely enjoyable to play, not just because of the challenging holes, but because of the history as well. It's my favorite in Augusta (besides the National) and has just been newly renovated to make play even more difficult. Definately recommended.

This course is challenging and the staff is caring and great to be around. Front nine and back differ greatly. The front requires long drives and a good short game while the back is more target golf. Great diverse course for the whole family.
