This old, traditional course features tree-lined fairways and well-manicured greens. The course was built on rolling hills, so you can expect many uneven lies. In the late afternoons the wind becomes a major factor. Water hazards come into play on two holes.

While not the place to slam a clubhead against the concrete-hard fairways, the course does present a challenge on several holes in their blind approaches to the greens. Perhaps the biggest annoyance is the tendancy for locals to cut in wherever and whenever they please. Creates an even bigger circus-like atmosphere.

Nisqually Valley Golf Course
"A good winter course"
This is a good course for golfers who can have fun without elaborate amenities. Practice facilites are minimal as is the proshop. The main assets are: golf value per dollar (great senior rates), minimal paved golf car paths so a ball is seldom scuffed and ricocheted to bad places, playability through the winter as the drainage is good because only minimal grading was done during construction. Walking is easy as there are only three areas that rise 20 or thirty feet. There are some nice oak tree framed views of Mt. Rainier. On approximately 90 acres this is, consequently, a very compact course with fairways side by side, so be alert to the call of "fore" and protect yourself. You should not hesitate to yell when you strike one out of your fairway.
