This course hosted three USGA National Qualifying Tournaments in 1992. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 4th "Best New Golf Course" in the U.S. for 1992. The greens are relatively small, undulating, and about four of them are elevated. The fairways are separated by thick lines of trees. Water hazards (ponds and a creek) come into play on ten holes. The signature hole is #12, a 141-yard, par 3, featuring a huge mound placed in the middle of the green. You may only walk this course after 3 PM.

Having played many other local courses in Jax I can say that Windsor is a great public course with some challenge in both fairways and greens. Great. Give it a try.

Tough course with postage size undulating greens and lots of water water everywhere. The par 3 16th is 182 yards from the blues...over water to a small green surrounded by sand....and it is rated the 16 handicap hole. Whoever rated it must have been drunk. Make sure you have a lot of balls or a long ball retriever.

Living in the midst of legends like grossingers and the concord monster, Tarry Brae offers an equal genre style course at a much better value. Greens usually run fast and true, and the layout is niether quirky nor tricky. A traditional layout at a reasonable price. Game on!

"Great little secret in Central PA"
This is a very hilly course that is not too long. The greens are small and will yield many 3 putts if you are in the wrong spot. There are a lot of risk reward holes to make birdies or double bogeys. With small fast greens and the hilly terain, anything around par is a great score the average player with a 14 handicap should expect to play around 83 golf. Well maintaned golf course, good food and service in the dinning room. The pro shop staff is very professional and accomidating. The best thing is the cheap cart(highly reccomend to take one) and green fees less then $40 a player. This is my second favorite thing to do on a Penn State football weekend, of course the Nittany Lions are the first thing.

"local and enjoyable"
Although an older course it has improved with age and with the rainy season last year (2002) the greens are fuller. A range is available and I try to get the most of my short game with the putting green. The back nine brings you up next to the airport but the single engine planes are not loud and are enjoyable to watch landing as your partner tries to keep up your great shot.
