I have played Rock Creek over the years since 1996. It is poorly kept for the most part. The first time I played it (cica 1996) I actually had to kick mounds of cigarette butts off the tee box just to ba able to tee the ball up. Depending on who is in charge the course drifts from mediocre to bad.

looking great now love living here, May 26, 2005
reviewer: Happy homeowner and Duffer from Jacksonville North Carolina
Since reading the review from Disappointed Golfer, I felt I had to comment. The drained pond was quite an eyesore, but the management informed the homeowners it would take a good amount of time to fix the problems. The pipes had to be engineered and companies don't just jump and make things like that overnight. As a resident and member of the club I was very ready for it to be fixed , now it is and looks beautiful again. The course is in very good condition presently. In my opinion, the course is very challenging with all of its water hazards and plays very long. I think that even the best of golfers will enjoy playing Rock Creek.I would love for Disappointed Golfer to try alittle open-mindedness and give our course at least one more try. It is my belief you will be pleasantly surprised.

Very poor maintenance, Nov 20, 2004
reviewer: Disappointed Golfer from Morehead City, NC
The golf course was not maintained that well. The drained pond was a true eye sore. I could not beleive a golf course would allow something to continue looking like that for as long as it has. I am surprised the residents in the area have not complained about this. Especially the homes that live right on the pond. I was here twice and both times the pond was empty. I was not impressed with this course at all and will not be going back.

Rock Creek, Feb 21, 2004

Rock Creek is a very fun course to play. It is not very challenging and is a very short course. The fairways are tree lined but they do not come into play on most shots. The course is in fair shape and is not expensive to play. It is a fun course to learn the game on or to just come out and have some fun on.
