This facility opened its back nine in July, 1998. The new holes play longer than the front nine, such as #15, a 472-yard, par 4, which plays straightaway, but sometimes into the wind. Another difficult addition is #18, a 379-yard, par 3, which plays over a lake. The original holes feature wide fairways and flat terrain. Water frequently comes into play, but there are no sand bunkers on the front nine.

Great Golf Course, Apr 09, 2004

I play the course regularly and the staff is excellent. The course is always in good shape. The cost is very reasonable. Not a difficult course, but you will use all your clubs. The wind usually blows and makes a couple of holes harder than usual. Don't let the yardage fool you.

Mountain Valley Golf Course - Maple/Oak Course
"hidden gem"
Course was originally 18 but 9 new holes were added in the last few years. The three nines, oak, pine, and maple are all challenging with tight tree lined fairways with generous sized greens with a fair bit of undulation. Huge elevation changes on some holes offer great views of the surrounding PA countryside. Although not the longest course, although some holes are quite long it is easily the most difficult in the region due to the tightness and difficult putting greens. The greens are always in great condition so the difficulty I have with putting is assuredly not the course, It's all mine. Great value too, and a friendly and helpful staff makes these three nine hole courses a must when in the area.

"Challenge"
The fairways here are nice, the greens protect the course and make it extraordinarily challenging. It doesn't play long but you have to be a good iron player to shoot anywhere in the 70's.

September 2004.. Just an average course. Not taken care of like it was in the early 90's. Cartpaths nearly undriveable due to broken pavement and potholes. Several greens in poor condition. Sandtraps washedout. Overrated and Overpriced!!!!
