I grew up on this course. It is one of the trickiest courses you will ever play so do not bet with the locals. The lower nine (holes 1-6 and holes 16-18) is flat and the namesake creek (North Fork of Benscreek) flows through it. The upper nine (holes 7-15) is like nothing you have ever seen or played before. The view from 11 tee overlooking the valley is spectacular. The price is right, the greens are bent and you will have plenty of shoulda-woulda-coulda excuses.

Northeast Harbor Golf Club
"Seasonal member"
NEHGC is on the pleasant island of Mt.Desert in Downeast Maine. I live in Seal Harbor 6 mos. a yr and join the club as a seasonal member. The play is $255 and excludes June 26 thru Sept 6. It is by far the best deal on MDI and throughout the downeast region. The course is never crowded, and you can expect the service in the pro shop to be excellent. Beautifully maintained greens and fairways with the backdrop of surrounding mtns. and countryside make this course a well kept secret on busy MDI. Make a tee time after Sept. 30 to enjoy incredible foliage and ideal temperatures.

"WOW, WHAT A COURSE!!!!!!!"
I have never putted on such undulating greens in my life, this course gave me fits.... I had never played here so I didnt know what I was in for, really tough course if your not familiar with it.... I crushed a drive on one hole, dont rememeber which one but I thought I hit at least a 300yd drive, well I did but it landed in a pond on the other side of a sloping fairway. Never knew the the water was there.... you cant see it from the tee box... (very sneaky). just one of the great holes on this gem....if you want some putting practice, then this your course.... go for it....

"Ok for begginers"
This course ok for begginers but it is very short, they have a good grounds crew and always looks nice.
