Great Golf Course, May 12, 2005

This course is primarily used by the locals. I think I am one of the few tourists that kwows about and plays this course. Every time I visit Oahu I play this course almost every day--and believe me the rates are very reasonable--$ 10 for 9 holes walking--no riding carts allowed or available. If you don't want to carry your golf bag you can rent a pull cart for $4. As to the golf course I really enjoy it, it is a great golf course and the locals are very friendly. And, the views are also great--on 4 of the holes you have a close view of the sand beach and ocean and on 1 or 2 other holes you can see some views of the ocean. It is just an enjoyable course to play.

"It's Fun"
The course is OK. I've played it about 10 times and they need to get the front 9 in. If they got the front 9 in I think it would me a lot more fun.

Oasis Golf Club - Oasis Course
"Not good any more."
The descripion of this course is 5 to 6 years outdated. It is not connected with the Oasis casino or the Palms golf course. Several of the holes have been changed to allow for more housing. The greens are one notch above sand greens. If you pay more than $50.00 to play it you paid too much.

"Nice change of pace"
This course is a nice change of pace. I have played it every year for the last 5 years for a total of about 15 rounds. The water was way down for a few years and when it was the course was not very nice to look at. Greens are small and challenging. The course is fun to play and reasonably tough. Having a sand trap in the middle of a green is flat out stupid. That hole (# 15) is definately my least favorite hole. The par five # 14 along the road seems to always be in bad shape. Outside of holes #4 , #14 and #15 I like the course .

Sleepy Hollow Country Club - Eighteen Hole Course
"High Quality Private Club"
As a Brit abroad, I was lucky enough to receive a couple of invitations to play here. The whole experience was outstanding, from the service at the club to the course itself. The clubhouse is one of the more impressive around (probably only improved upon by my home course in the UK!). The track itself was in excellent condition and, as with other Tillinghast courses, was a good strategic challenge, although not as 'man-sized' as say Winged Foot West and Bethpage Black. More playable for someone of my ability and therefore perhaps as enjoyable.
