This course was once part of a privately-owned estate, but it was willed to now provide open public play. The course is situated on top of an extinct volcano. It is a very scenic course that has both ocean and mountain views. The changing trade winds make club selection very difficult. The greens are hard to read and a challenge to putt. The green fees are good for all-day play.

Kukuiolono, a relaxing and affordable round, Mar 04, 2005

Kukuiolono park is a beautiful if somewhat rural course that has few ammenites but features a varied and relaxed round of golf. The price can't be beat and the local flavor is very appealing. If you are looking for highly maintained greens and fairways then you should go to one of the resort courses, but if you want a quiet enjoyable experience try this rustic and very inexpensive course.

Pines Par 3 Golf Course
"Pines Par 3"
This course is just a ball to play. Yes they are only par 3's with the longest being 90yards but this is still a great course to work on your short game. It has done wonders for mine. This course is also a great place to get the kids started on golf. Friendly atmosphere. On Monday Nights they have a Golf Tournament entry fee is about $15, including the hole-in-one pool.

Valencia Country Club
"Valencia CC -- one of the finest in the U.S."
Valencia CC is a gorgeous layout and wonderful design that only gets better with maturity. This Robert Trent Jones course is a truly great test of golf. Demanding par fives and threes along with several of the finest par fours I've ever played make for a challenging and wonderful round. The 66,000 sq. ft. clubhouse with wonderful restaurant, grill room, snack bar, and great pro shop make this one of the most beautiful settings there is to play a round of golf. The practice facilities are absolutely great. This is one of the top 100 golf courses in the United States.

Highlands Country Club
"Great Mountain Course"
Although you must golf with a member, Highlands offers a wide variety of challenges. Varying lies, fast greens, and narrow fairways makes Highlands a highly likeable course. A recent resodding of the fairways to Kentucky bluegrass has made this already aesthetic course even more beautiful.
