This course is just minutes from Traverse City, Charlevoix, Petoskey and all the natural wonders of Northern Michigan. The layout is spectacularly situated on high bluffs overlooking Torch Lake, which is considered to be one of the three most beautiful inland lakes in the world. The course spreads gracefully over 500 acres. It meanders over hill and dale, through stately pines and mature hardwoods, and across swift-flowing creeks. The signature hole is #16, a 353-yard, par 4, which has a great view from either its elevated tee box or green of the Torch Lake. The pull carts are only allowed on the course before 7 AM and after 5 PM on the weekdays, and not at all on the weekends. The twilight and the junior rate starts after 3 PM.

This course is great. The view, from the club house, overlooking several miles of Torch Lake's 22 mile length is tremendous -- and the golf at A Ga Ming is excellent, too.

Beautiful fairways and challenging ups and downs will give you your money's worth.

The price for golf here is a deal - especially when compared to the high prices charged at many other northern Michigan courses.....with far less pretty holes.

"Great course for juniors!"
This is a fabulous course for young juniors to learn on! I took my 2 nephews there, and they had a great time! Several holes have river views. Nice little driving range too!

I've placed hundreds of courses in this country and Ferncroft for a resort club is one of the better places to play! For a private resort the cost of greens fees are perhaps a bit expensive, but you have to willling to pay to play one of the better well run courses in the area! The Bent grass on the fairways and greens are always well maintained. The layout is challenging for a course of just over 6,600 yards from the tips. They've just rebuilt the 3rd Green and 4th Tee. From time to time depending on the season they may have some standing water issues. From what I've been told by the Director of Golf they are taking care of this in the near future with a new irrigation system.
