This very hilly course has many oak and pine trees lining its fairways. The greens are fast and hard to read, and water hazards come into play on a few holes. A new back nine designed by Joel Goldstrand was opened during the first week of August in 1996. Hole #15, a 321-yard, par 4, features an island green.

The Kimball Golf Club is another club in outstate Minnesota that should be put on your list to play. The course is very hilly with tree lined fairways on many of the holes. The greens are medium to large sized and do not give away to many putts. I believe number nine drops into a ravine like approach to the green which is very surprising when you get there. A challenging hole for any golfer. I played the course in the fall and it was gorgeous as the trees were turning and it made the fairways even more picturesque. Pricing is very attractive as ranges in the 20-40 dollar class depending if you walk the course or not. If you walk be sure you are in good shape, it is hilly. The clubhouse is on the small side but the staff are very friendly and extremely helpful.

Edgewood Country Club
"Traditional Donald Ross layout"
Edgewood is a graceful example of a Donald Ross design, with elevated, contoured and fast greens. The traditional, tree lined layout is picturesqe and plays longer than its listed length. Par 4s #2 and #18 are each 420 yard gems. Three of the Par 5s are reachable with two long shots. 5-8 on the front is where the golf course really tests you. The course is always in good condition, and despite its hills, is a good walking course with a solid caddy program.

"Totally worth it!"
For the price they ask, it's totally worth it! It's a great course! There may not be that many trees, but I noticed a few projects that looked like they were working on it, and there is still plenty of beauty surrounding it. Water hazards made it challenging, but all the more fun. Very well kept! The maintenance crew must work hard!

Great course. Great shape. The only problem is the people you may play with. Every now and than you get the stuck-up Hampton type. If you can tune that kind of stuff out you will have a great time. My advice would be to play from the tips.
