This course plays longer than it looks due to the steep inclines. The course is very well manicured and offers scenic views of the surrounding mountain ranges. The signature hole is #11, a 222-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot from off a cliff and over a river to the green. "Golf Digest" chose this course as "Best in State" for the years 1995 through 1998. In addition "GOLF Magazine" rated the course 20th best under the 1998 category of the "Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S." This club hosted the 1994 Maine State Championship. The Original Golf School is located on the premises; for additional information, please call (207) 237-6812. A second eighteen hole course is planned for the future.

"My teams home course is Sugar Isle"
I'm on the Tecumseh High School golf team and Sugar Isle is our home course, its one the of the best courses in the area. We play all kinds of courses around this area and from the experiences I've had i think its one of the best. Its fairways are usually in pretty good shape and the greens are always in great shape, its not the best course to play on right after a big rain though because of all the rolling hills it doesnt drain water too well. I'd say its a challenge for the intermediate player and on some days even the advanced.

Boundary Oak Golf Course
"Not kept up to its potential"
This is my childhood course where I learned the game, so naturally I may have a little favorable bias. I'm disappointed with what appears to be permanent "temporary" greens. When are they going to finally fix them, and why should they charge full price until they are fixed? Until then, I'd recommend Blue Rock Springs in Vallejo, Franklin Canyon off Hwy 4, Delta View in Pittsburg, or Lone Tree in Antioch. Boundary Oak is a beautiful setting though, for those who enjoy viewing the surroundings before making a shot, just as the presentation of a fine meal seems to add to the taste just before devouring it. The layout also provides for some fun shots-- nice elevation changes and you'll use most of the clubs in your bag.
