This club has four fairly difficult eighteen hole courses. The Island Course is this club's signature course because of its length and small, fast greens. The Marsh and Lake courses have narrow, tree-lined fairways, and water hazards coming into play on several holes. The Forest Course, the new and most demanding course, will delight all levels of player. The greens are small, and the fairways are narrow. There is heavy undulation throughout the course. "Golf Digest" selected the Forest Course 8th in the category of "Best New Private Courses" for 1996, and also rated it the 16th "Best in State" course for 1997-98. The Forest Course has its own Pro Shot System Carts for rent. Scenic Lake Houston borders some of these courses' holes.

LAND HAS BEEN BUILT UP BETWEEN THE FAIR WAYS TO BUILD HOUSES ON THE WATER JUST SITS ON SOME HOLE . TO MANY BLIND SHOTS AND LAY UP HOLES .THEY NEED TO FIX THE HOLE THING ! NOT AN ENJOYABLE COURSE !

Glen Garden Golf & Country Club
"History"
Glen Garden is a great place for Golfers of all ages. Playing on the course, it is easy to see how it produced such greats as Hogan and Nelson. They have the classic postage stamp greens. You must be accurate with your approach shot or you will miss the green. It is a great course for beginners as there are relatively few holes where a bad shot will lose your ball. The pace of play is very relaxed and the course staff are over the top friendly. The only down side to Glen Garden is that when it was built it was out in the country (1912?). In the 1950's Fort Worth grew and houses went up all around the course. Unfortunately these houses we small wooden houses and over the years it has become the bad side of town. There have been huge efforts by the local population over the last ten years to clean things up but it will take time. I highly recommend a visit to Glen Garden for any golfer. If you have an interest in history you will find it fantastic to consider you are walking on holy grounds.

Wonderfull! - Grew up there, right next door - on Merrivale drive. (6, Merrivale drive to be exact!) - used to play army there! ( when I was a young soldier, - back in the '60s.) Well, I don't know about golf, but living next door to that BEAUTIFUL golfcourse was a memory I'll cherish forever!
