This is a predominantly hilly course, but there are some level areas. The greens are large, and water hazards come into play on a few holes, including #9, a 183-yard, par 3, requiring a carry over pond to the well-bunkered green. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 7th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. The Pennsylvania PGA Championship was held here from 1985 to 1992.

This course was closed and buried in Sept. of 2001.

Fox Valley Golf Club
"quality at reasonable price"
One of the best course in the fox valley region. You pay for a membership and by the end of the summer you have played enough rounds to balance out the price. Prices are reasonable enough to allow members to bring a non-member at an affordable cost. The layout of the course challenges both right and left handed golfers.

Chief at Sky Lodge Golf Course, The
"Bring it on!"
The Chief is perhaps the most challenging course I have played in northern Michigan. While it is a toughy, especially from the tips, it brings out a carnal instinct in me to play it again because I know that with my new knowledge I can improve my score. The course was in great shape with its bent tees, greens and fairways nicely manicured. The pro indicated that they just lowered the length of the rough, which made a great improvement. Service was also great in the shop. Leave your driver at home and have some fun.

Cairo Country Club
"Cairo is where i spend my spring break!!"
Cairo country club offers 18 holes of challenging golf. employees at the club are as generous and courteous as they come. the tree lined fairways call for consistent accuracy off the tee and some strategically placed fairway bunkers make the tee shot a placement factor. bermuda green that are well manacured. my buddy adam schuster says "its good" and my other buddy adam scott says its "da shizzle" the course really flows together throughout the 18 holes and the practice range provides a great area for preparing for the beginning of a round or fine tuning the game.
