This fairly tight course puts a premium on shot accuracy. Water hazards (ten ponds) come into play on twelve holes. The tree-lined fairways are predominantly flat, but there are a few rolling hills that can cause uneven lies. The greens are undulating, well bunkered, and about half are elevated. The Indiana Golf Association once ranked this as the 5th best public course in the state. Tee times are only reserved for the weekends.

As municipal courses go, Beechwood is way above average. It's fun, relatively challenging, and in pretty good shape. But 5 Stars, no way. How about 3.

This was my home course for the high school golf team. You will be hard pressed to find a finer, more mature public course. Do yourself a favor and go there.

Lexington Golf & Country Club
"Best Kept Secret In Central VA"
Of all the courses I have played through out VA I would have to say this is one of the best kept secrets in Virginia. The greens are very fast but yet they hold very well. The vista's of the mountains on the back nine are breath taking. The #17 hole could one day be as comparable to one of the holes at Augusta or the TPC Sawgrass. Its and old club with alot of history set up in a beautiful historic town! If you can get your self and invitation to play it I would highly recommend it. Keep your head down and let it rip. Bill P.

"Good course for the money."
Played this course a couple of times last visit to area. Was always use to paying $70 plus at other courses. Was surprised and enjoyed this course. It just goes to show that you don't have to spend big bucks to enjoy a round of golf. Will be playing this course again when I come down this spring.

Riverview Golf Course
"Best 9 holes around"
Riverview is the perfect practice course when you don't have time for 18. It's long enough to be interesting and offers enough challenges to allow practice on all aspects of your game. The course has good greens, challenging sand traps and water hazards you can't see--until its too late. Its also fun to play.
