Lafayette Country Club - Battleground Course

This club has a nine hole course and an eighteen hole course. The Battleground Course is the eighteen hole course. Its tree-lined fairways and well-bunkered greens help the layout to play tight; putting surfaces are large and somewhat sloping. The Battleground Course is located at a different site than the Lafayette Course. The Lafayette Course is an old course with tree-lined fairways. The greens are small, elevated and well bunkered. The course is hilly with ditches that come into play on three holes, and there is a creek that comes into play on two other holes. William Diddel redesigned the Lafayette Course in 1924. Tee times for the Battleground Course can be reserved seven days in advance for weekdays and four days in advance for weekends. Caddies are only available on weekends. On the Lafayette Course, you are allowed to wear metal spikes.

Nice change of pace, Jun 07, 2004 |

| Very nice course. I put together an outing of 20 golfers from Chicago and we visited the Indianapolis area for a four day golf trip. After three days of very challenging courses costing twice as much, this was a welcome change on our way home Sunday. Very helpful staff, nice food facilities, and whaddya know..a course that you could actually see the green when standing on the tee. Long fairway bunkers seemed to attract balls, and slightly crowned greens kept everyone guessing on the putts. A very nice course if you are tired of acres of heather and hazards in the middle of fairways. |

| This course is a great test of your accuracy off the tee, it is very challenging, and a fantastic course for your dollar. I had a blast, even though I struggled the whole day! |
