Situated just yards from beautiful Lake Almanor, this course is nestled among tall pine trees in the shadow of snow-capped Mt. Lassen. Cool, crisp mountain air and the majestic views are perfect compliments for the spacious, accommodating fairways. The slightly undulating greens are large and contribute to the ease-of-play on the course. The signature hole is #8, a 141-yard, par 3, which requires a tee shot over a pond to a green protected by tall pines on the right side. This course expects to open another nine holes in the year 2000.

Pines Par 3 Golf Course
"Pines Par 3"
This course is just a ball to play. Yes they are only par 3's with the longest being 90yards but this is still a great course to work on your short game. It has done wonders for mine. This course is also a great place to get the kids started on golf. Friendly atmosphere. On Monday Nights they have a Golf Tournament entry fee is about $15, including the hole-in-one pool.

The name certainly fit's the layout. The front side of this tree-lined course is tight but somewhat forgiving on certain holes. The front has three par three's and two par 5's making it a par 35. Newly constructed tee's on two of the par 3's, number 3 and 6, make them both over 200 yards. To add to the difficulty #3 plays over water. The 400 yard plus 5th hole was the most difficult, an uphill, dogleg right to a large two-tier green. The backside seem's like water everywhere. It comes directly into play on 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, & 17. Number 15 is a spectacular hole with water along the right that turns in front of the green to make your approach shot about 150 to 160 over water to a large green. Number 17 is a drive over a hill to a green fully protected by a large pond in front and surrounded by a natural bowl around the back and side. This was the most difficult hole on the course. The backside has only one par 3 and two par 5's making par 37. Playing from the blue tee's presents a good challenge for the mid to low handicapper as the course plays to about 6400 yards. The white tees present a nice but fair challenge for the mid to high handicap. Beautiful, quite setting surrounded by woods and farmland. Excellent practice facility, best East of the CT. River. Large, two-tier driving range, three practice greens, one with a fairway chipping area and bunker. Modest clubhouse, a true golfing club.
