This old, traditional course was recently redesigned by Ron Prichard. The course was designed to play alongside Lake Charles. Even though locals say this is a tight course, they also say that it is not that difficult to score well on after you've become acquainted with its design. Jay Riviere redesigned this course.

Just wanted to add that there are stats for the red tees: rating of 72.2 and slope of 129, which plays at either 5350 or 5444 yds depending on where they choose to set the tee boxes. Hurricane Rita in '05 knocked out around 300 trees, which some claim make the course "easier" to play. The lost trees are being replaced. In the meantime, the groundskeepers are keeping it challenging enough with tougher roughs along the fairways. Lots of turtles, birds and the occasional alligator will entertain.

this course has a great feel to it. its nessled into neighborhoodds with beutiful new homes. the club was deseigned in 1919 so naturally its pretty old school. its not to challenging but not to hard. the members thier are one of a kind and very friendly and so is the staff. the club has a nice southern twist. i highly recomend a round there.

Chapel Hill Country Club
"HARD TO GET ON - GREAT TO PLAY"
Course is a traditional style designed by Gene Hamm and renovated by John LaFoy in 1999. This is the only private course in Chapel Hill. Walking is encouraged and it is a great way to experience the course. Signature hole IS NOT # 14. It's # 10 which can require carry over water twice. Pin on this hole makes 3 to 4 clubs difference on second shot. It's a beauty! Only one hole without bunkers - the par 3 9th is about 175 uphill from middle tees. Out of bounds on many of the holes as the fairways rise and fall through a very established traditional and exclusive neighborhood. Greens are all large (with at least 6 different zones on each one for pin placement)and have many contours. Three putts are common - especially in spring and fall when the bent grass surface is kept very fast. Bring your thinking cap, but also bring your game if your fun comes from scoring well. It's not an easy course, but it's not Jack Nicklaus difficult either.
