This course has one lake that comes into play on three holes. The fairways are flat and tree lined. The wind seems to always be present. This club was originally founded in 1895 and was listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. In addition, "GOLF Magazine" recognized it in their 1995 list of "The First 100 Clubs in America." The 1906 U.S. Open was played here and was won by Alex Smith.

I've played at many golf courses around the Chicago Land area and this course is by far the best.

This is an extremely well kept course. The course requires a wide variety of shots. If you are not on top of your game from the blue tees you will be in for a long day. The greens are very fast and hard to read. When you move up to the white or gold tees the course becomes very playable for the higher handicap player.

This is an excellent golf course for the true golfing enthusiast. The cost is very low and value very high for those looking for a golfing good day and a good meal and relaxed or formal atmosphere. Because it is rolling, those that are accustomed to playing the costal flat courses may find it challenging. The various groups within the club feature events for women and men with senior groups who are very active. For scenery that is not bland and a golfing experience to be enjoyed and remembered, try Williamsburg Country Club.
