This is a fun "pitch and putt" par 3 course, which is great for the entire family to play. The greens are large and undulating, and average about 900-square feet. There are no trees or bushes to affect shots. The course was built on hilly terrain, and none of the holes exceed 100 yards in length.

short but good for practice, Feb 23, 2009

This course is essentially a 3 hole practice course at the driving range. It's well groomed and a bit challenging, fully equipped with water hazards and sand bunkers. Fun for anyone looking to sharpen up their game a bit. The cost is also fair, starting at about $7.

Mountain Valley Golf Course - Maple/Oak Course
"hidden gem"
Course was originally 18 but 9 new holes were added in the last few years. The three nines, oak, pine, and maple are all challenging with tight tree lined fairways with generous sized greens with a fair bit of undulation. Huge elevation changes on some holes offer great views of the surrounding PA countryside. Although not the longest course, although some holes are quite long it is easily the most difficult in the region due to the tightness and difficult putting greens. The greens are always in great condition so the difficulty I have with putting is assuredly not the course, It's all mine. Great value too, and a friendly and helpful staff makes these three nine hole courses a must when in the area.

"Great for all ages"
Aside from this course being played regularly by Chandler Harper (PGA hall of famer), City Park has a great youth program practically year round. Also, the course is always in great shape and, although, it is a very short 9-hole course, it is very challenging.

Wonderfull! - Grew up there, right next door - on Merrivale drive. (6, Merrivale drive to be exact!) - used to play army there! ( when I was a young soldier, - back in the '60s.) Well, I don't know about golf, but living next door to that BEAUTIFUL golfcourse was a memory I'll cherish forever!
