This resort has two outstanding eighteen hole courses. The Nu-Waiv Kaiv Course is a desert, links-style design with no parallel holes. The layout is very scenic because it is located on the Paiute Reservation. The fairways are wide, and the greens are small, flat and fast. Ponds come into play on seven holes, including the signature hole, #16, a 198-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over water to a small, well-bunkered green. The Tav-ai-Kaiv Course opened in August, 1996. This course includes four lakes coming into play on four holes. The greens are undulating and softer than the Nu-Waiv Kaiv greens. The signature hole is #4, a 206-yard, par 3, which is very similar to hole #16 on the older course. There is water along the right side, and a two-tiered, undulating green. "Golf Digest" rated the Nu-Waiv Kaiv Course as the 4th "Best New Private Course" in America for 1995, and as the 8th "Best in State" course for 1997-98.

Bent Creek Country Club
"Exquisite Conditioning"
I was a member at Bent Creek for ten years until moving to South Carolina. Day in and day out, compared with top caliber courses, this is probably the best conditioned course in the Mid-Atlantic area. Tees, fairways, and greens are bent grass, as are the practice tees and even one of the two practice ranges. The course is more difficult than its slope and course rating indicate, with very difficult holes at the start, especially from the back tees. It is a great course for average players from the regular men's tees, and a fantastic test for better players from the back. An under-par score from the back tees is exceptional.

"Declining conditions"
Having played this course over the last ten years, I can't help but be dismayed by the declining conditions. It is a classic course that was consistently enjoyable until the last two years. In this time, the course condition, length of rounds and restaurant amenities have all gone downhill. I hope that they can turn this around because it is no longer worth the greens fee that they charge.

Lakeview Resort - Lakeview Course
"I LOVE LAKEVIEW"
I have beaten my husband 4 out of 5 times we have played there! He taught me how to play when we got married 13 years ago. He had played golf for over 24 years before he met me. I was invited to play in the WV tri-state open at Preston country club and was my caddie. My best round at Lakeview was last year (2003) and had a 92 on the Lakeview course; we live in Pittsburgh and try to play Lakeview at least 4 times a year. My favorite hole is number 1 as I have birdied it several times.
