This desert-style course is owned and operated by the American Golf Corporation. The somewhat narrow fairways are defined by the mounds on the sides. Many fairway grass bunkers and greenside sand bunkers have been incorporated into this course's design. In addition, a few trees can alter your shots if you hit an extremely errant shot, but none of them really come into play with the exception of hole #14, a short 313-yard, par 4. The greens are difficult to read because they are loaded with subtle breaks and undulations. Water hazards come into play on only a few holes. The tee time reservation service number is (800) 884-1818. The weekend rate also applies for Friday. Every weekend, mats are used on the driving range. Twilight and seasonal rates are available; for more information contact the pro shop.

"Overrated!!!"
September 2004.. Just an average course. Not taken care of like it was in the early 90's. Cartpaths nearly undriveable due to broken pavement and potholes. Several greens in poor condition. Sandtraps washedout. Overrated and Overpriced!!!!

There is nothing better to do on a warm summer evening than playing a few holes down on the POYCC golf course. The course is always kept in the best condition with improvements always being made where ever possible. The course is easy enough for the casual golfer, but has a variety of challenges that make it fun and competive. The best aspect of the course is the great atmosphere and senic views of classic New England in Long Island Sound. After playing with friends, returning to the club house is a great experience. The course is always alive and no matter what the circumstances it is always a good game of golf.

"It is what it is."
This is a no-nonsense par 3 course. Course is flat and wide open. Excellent place to get in a practice round or take kids or beginning golfers to. Low handicappers will not find this course challenging with the exception of a few water hazards. Fees are $15 monday through thursday.

Hillcrest Country Club
"Miniature Southern Hills"
Hillcrest is an old (built 1926), established, traditional golf course. Originally designed by Perry Maxwell (Southern Hills, Prairie Dunes, Colonial), it was updated in 1980 by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay. The course features tree-lined fairways, lots of doglegs, and difficult small greens. It has hosted numerous USGA Qualifiers, an NCAA regional, numerous OGA state amateur events. While short in length, it plays longer because of the doglegs and elevation changes. Course record is 65 and is held by Justin Leonard and several others. This is an excellent golf course that you will want to play again.
