This executive course was built on rolling terrain. A creek is situated alongside the course, but does not come into play. The greens are large, and many holes have dogleg fairways. The most difficult hole is #7, a 318-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot up a sharp dogleg left fairway. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 3rd "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. Tee times are only reserved on weekends during the summer.

The fairways are zoysia grass not bermuda, green fees during spring, summer and fall are $10.00 for 9 holes, $16.00 for 18.

Great experience, very friendly management, great fairways, small but very nice greens. To be very candid it is very tough, not easy but certainly well worth every penny. Really helps all aspects of the game but especially the short game. You will love it!!!!!!!!

Its not very long but be careful where you hit the ball. A GREAT way to spend a couple hours.

Desert Hills Golf Club
"What a golf course should be."
I have played this private course 5-6 times since 1992 and have enjoyed it every time. Recently I played as a guest in a small tournament and the course was in excellent condition. There are 8 other courses in this retirement community, several owned and managed by large course management groups, but they are not in the same class as this one as far as quality is concerned. There are few if any divots on the greens, all players seem to be very conscious of divot repair on the entire course, including the rough, facilities are clean and fresh, clubhouse is pleasant and modern and the staff is great. I have just joined and am thrilled to death with a life-time membership to look forward to!

"poor management"
The course is typically in awful shape, must not have a greenskeeper. They just have one cup on the putting green and never change it. The driving range balls are awful and the people working in the shop are rude. Lights are not replaced on the course, and maintenance of the course is horrible, very trashy. Nice layout, but bad maintenance, not worth the experience.

Buffalo Grove Golf Course
"Priceline Golf"
Buffalo Grove golf course is a great track for the money. It's pretty wide open from the tees but trouble can sneak up on you on many holes. Can you reach the 16th green in two?
