This course was built on flat terrain and has narrow, tree-lined fairways. The course is centrally located two miles from the Atlantic Ocean, so expect the ocean breezes to frequently come into play. Hole #14, a 387-yard, par 4, plays uphill to the Reynolds Channel, and #15, a 377-yard, par 4, plays away from the channel. Water hazards (eight ponds) come into play on ten holes. The greens are mostly flat, but there are some subtle undulations that can make them difficult to read at times. Sand bunkers protect almost all the greens and many of the fairways. The signature hole is #14, requiring a tee shot directly into the wind. Mid and short irons are only allowed on the driving range due to environmental concerns about hitting balls into the ocean. Tee times are only reserved for members by a lottery system held one week in advance.

Slow Play, May 10, 2005
reviewer: Steve from Lawrence, NY
The course is very nice, but there are times where it may take you 5 hours to play 18 holes by yourself. Sometimes play can be extremely slow, you may be stuck behind a foursome that doesnt let you play through.
