This extremely scenic course was built on the ridges above a valley. With four different sets of tees to choose from, this course can be fun or challenging for all skill levels of golfer. The fairly level fairways are tree lined, but fair because there are no hidden hazards. The greens are large, undulating, and well manicured. There is a creek that meanders throughout the course, but it does not come into play. However, water hazards (ponds) come into play on six holes, so shot accuracy is still essential at times. The signature hole is #16, a 600-yard, par 5, featuring an elevation change from tee to green measuring over 100 feet and requiring a tee shot up a narrow fairway with a creek flowing down the right side, then an approach shot to an elevated green. Walking is permitted, but not advised since the course is spread out on over 230 acres of scenic land.

Indian Springs Golf Club
"Indian Springs - Hidden Jewel"
This course is in a rural setting, with many farms around. Getting to it is a challenge, but once there, some pleasurable hours will be had. The course was well maintained, with good fairways and well manicured greens. There is almost an "upper level" and "lower level" for play and the elevation changes pretty dramatically for middle Illinois. There are plenty of water hazards, woods and places to make shots, so the course may be tough for new players. For shotmakers, it is a great skill test. The signature hole offers a scenic tee, overlooking two water hazards, gazing out into a woods and just barely able to see the dogleg right hole. Anything too far out or left or right goes out of play, and bunkers guard the green on the approach. The clubhouse has the essentials for refreshments, the price is moderate and the staff are friendly. I would recommend this course to anyone for an enjoyable outing and challenge.

"It is what it is."
This is a no-nonsense par 3 course. Course is flat and wide open. Excellent place to get in a practice round or take kids or beginning golfers to. Low handicappers will not find this course challenging with the exception of a few water hazards. Fees are $15 monday through thursday.
