This course's small greens are fast, and the tree-lined fairways are tight. The signature hole is #4, a par 3, requiring a tee shot over a lake to a sloped green with out-of-bounds stakes to the left. This course has been redesigned over the years by William and David Gordon (1955), Brian Ault, Tom Clark and Bill Love (1984), and Stephen Kay (1989).

I found this course and county club to be quite exciting. The main reason for this was because of one stand out individual. This man was Brad Irle, he introduced me to the realm that is Danville Country Club. Never before have I ever fathomed in any of my wildest, most exotic dreams to see such a plethora of food placed before me. After an enivorating and exciting round Brad and I stopped into the 19th whole to wet our whistles with a tasty tripple Gin and Tonic. Shawnee Lookout Golf Course
"Beautiful, Scenic, Challenging, HILLLLLLYYY"
I have played this course several times when traveling to the Cincinnati area and have found this gold course to be most scenic. First few holes are easy.. but this just to draw you into the ambush of trees, hills, water and rough that lie ahead. Very fun course to play. Nestled and secluded right in the corner of where three states meet, with views of the Ohio river and Great Miami River.

"Better accurate than long"
Not a lot of distance required here, but you had better be accurate - both off the tee and on the approach. Beautiful setting inclduing occasional glimpses of the Ohio River; well maintained; friendly staff; beautiful clubhouse with excellent food. A real value.
