This course has watered fairways that are tree lined and semi-open. The greens are sloped, small and fast. The famous "Ike" tree sits right in the middle of one fairway and you'll need to be accurate with your tee shot or suffer the consequences. There are water hazards that come into play on some holes, and the terrain is hilly. This club is not open to the public on Sunday, only members are allowed to play.

Decent 9 hole course., Apr 15, 2004

This is not a bad little 9 hole track, but certainly not one of the best in the area. The course can play extremely slow due to crowding, and member outings and leagues. The fairways and greens are nice, however the greens are quite sloped and fast. Leaving the ball below the hole on approach is critical to scoring on this golf course. The couse is not long, and only requires driver on about 3-4 of the holes. A creek comes into play on a few holes, but no large water hazards are really in play unless you hit a very bad shot. The clubhouse offers full beverage and grill service, and there is a swimming pool for use by members only. You will certainly play better courses in the area, but can pay more an play worse courses too.

"Enjoyable Round"
It is an average length course, but enjoyable. The fescue around the bunkers gives the course a nice look. There are some intersting holes such as one with a 2 tiered green right in front to make for a tough second shot from only around 60 yards. Some water but overall its fun and if you have the chance to play there do so.

"This course helped my game!"
With it's many doglegs and elevation changes, this course will quickly teach the beginners how to setup their approaches, while giving the lower handicap players a reasonably challenging round. 5 of the first nine pins cannot be seen from the tees. If you spray your tee shots, you will surely be struggling to make par. The par threes are deceiving with two short downhills, and two 150-ish up hills. These have been my achilles heel. There are not to many water hazzards, but they are well/poorly place depending on your tendancies. They can easily swallow your ball if your not carefull. The traps are typically limited to wrapping the greens, but watch out for the 5th hole, with its deceiving horizontal sand at 230 yards out. The grounds are well kept with mid speed greens that exactly match the practice green. Prepare for an even mix of wide and narrow fairways, and many misleading doglegs, both slight and sharp. This course has made me a better golfer, and I can't say that about many. Enjoy!

Shadow Hawk Golf Club
"Fall Visit"
Shadow Hawk is a beautiful venue. The course is hard to rate in the middle of winter when the trees are not in bloom and leafy. The fairways are open and more than fair. The greens are as challenging as they come. They are filled with undulations that make straight putts rare. The greens roll fair and pretty fast. The clubhouse is very classy and comfortable (in winter, nicer than the course itself). I would hope to play this course again in summer (heat and all) to see the beauty. It was still fun and challenging for this 15 handicap player,

"Amateur Golfer's take"
Many par 3's that are attainable in 3 strokes, a lot of hills and beautiful scenery. In a rural setting, so it's rarely crowded. Not a particularly challenging course, but a fun course where I never felt pressured.
