Cheers, Aug 03, 2005

| If there were a "Cheers" if golf courses, this one would be the one they would use for the TV show. Once becoming a member you are made to feel welcomed and encouraged to play in leagues and tournaments by all the members and soon like Cheers, everyone will know your name. It's private as of this year, with a very reasonable membership fee. The course is in the best shape it's been in years. After golf the deck and 19th hole offer a great way to re-hash your round with friends and a cold beer. I urge anyone out there that wants a warm, friendly and "tricky" golf course to come join the Norms, Cliffs, Sams and Diannes of NCC for a round and "cold one" sometime, you won't regret it!

Flat, boring course in poor condition, Jun 17, 2004

| This 9-hole course is essentially a flat open field divided into 7 boring parallel narrow holes. Only 2 holes deviate -- the fourth that winds its way up a dogleg right through a condominium complex and the fifth that crosses the back of the condos. The conditions are poor, even in the peak of summer, with half filled in greens, poorly-mowed fairways and swampy areas that never seem to drain. You'd be better off golfing at some of the munis in the area, like Cherry Hill in Amherst or the Ledges in South Hadley. Nice clubhouse with good staff, however. |
