This course's fairways were built on rolling terrain. The back nine is more wooded and narrower than the front nine. There is one pond that comes into play on two holes. The course has many mature maple, birch, oak, and beech trees lining its fairways. The tee boxes and greens are elevated, and about twelve greens are well bunkered. The signature hole, also the most difficult, is #8, a 477-yard, par 5, requiring a tee shot up a dogleg left fairway and past some large trees growing in the center.

Great Course, Sep 06, 2008
reviewer: midmoguy from Columbia MO
I have played this course about 20 times in a variety of conditions. The course has always been in good shape, though greens may vary when wet. For its length, it is still challenging, but what makes it great for me is the natural beauty/charm. Views looking down on a pristine lake (9, 18) and the wooded beauty on the back nine make this special- at least for me.

classic course, May 14, 2007
reviewer: DG from granville, oh
this is a phenomenal course. you will hit every club in your bag and you will be required to hit a variety of shots. there are a few long par fours (five and seven) and several risk/reward holes (two, fifteen and sixteen). the condition is average and the overall distance is very short, but if you appreciate shot making and course management this is an outstanding golf course. i would be content to play this course everyday for the rest of my life.

Leland's Hidden Gem, Jan 16, 2006
reviewer: Preston comey from Cincinnati, Ohio
This is a fun summer course that will entertain golfers of all levels. Although the front nine is fairly open (except for 8 and 9), the back nine more than makes up for the space alloted to a player during the earlier parts of a round. The course will reward a player who can take a risk and execute, while it can punish those who don't. A fun course all around, it makes the most of its short length, and it is a must play if you are in leelanau county.

Don't golf here, Aug 21, 2005
reviewer: anonymous from Orlando, FL
I personally do not like this course. The grass is always in bad condition; either too wet and soggy or dry and dead. I never know what too expect when I'm playing here. I also do not like the layout of the course. It is confusing and a bit sketchy. I don't recommend this course.

Being a member of the club, I find this to be one of the better tracks in the area, it is not long but it is tight, so it is a challenge to the best of golfers

Great MI Golf, Jul 06, 2004
reviewer: Ralph Reahard from Richmond, VA
Although a short track by modern standards, this classic design will humble even the longest of hitters. What it lacks in length is compensated for with small greens and a tight back nine making this a challenge to golfers of any level. If you're in the area, call up a member, you don't want to miss this gem.

"Up North" Golf, Jun 27, 2004

Golfing in Northern Michigan gaurantees great scenic water views and rolling hills. Combine that with a Members Only experience and you've got LCC. Be kind to a member, and you might get to enjoy the experience of this well maintained gem on the edge of North Lake Leelanau. Not long, but the backside will certainly test your accuracy and course management.
