This resort is renowned for its outstanding natural beauty and famous for its challenging championship eighteen hole course, which is irrigated to provide consistent play throughout the golf season. There is total separation and woodland between the holes. This magnificent course, covering 380 manicured acres, with expansive panoramic views of the Berkshire countryside, offers exciting golf to overnight guests, day visitors and local members. The challenging course was built in 1926 by Wayne Stiles and John Van Kleek on the site of the original Berkshire Hunt Club. The grounds also include a twelve-acre driving range. Seasonal golf memberships are available. Call the pro shop for information about membership packages or if you are planning a golf vacation, call ahead for tee times. This resort also offers an indoor golf center that is open during the winter. Since carts are mandatory on weekends, the green fee indicated includes the price of the cart.

Can your money be spent better elsewhere?, Apr 19, 2007 |

| I have played Cranwell a few times before. They used to be a great course, but the little houses that they have built around it take away from the view you can get and the overall game play. The greens on the course are fast most of the time and you might want to practice your one putts and aim, because they will run right off the green. It is a fun course to play, but the pricing of the course is what kills me, at fees over $60 in the spring and $100 in the summer, you could go and spend your money elsewhere on smaller courses around the area. Cranwell is a resort, and its course is fun to play, but in my opinion you are better off spending your money on a few local courses and get two times the play for the same cost. For small courses that are fun to play and have nice views I would recommend Skyline(public), Greenock(9 hole course, semi-private), and Bas-Ridge(public) |

Gor for it, if you got it, Jun 28, 2006 |

| A pleasant, challenging well maintained course. Some views are extraordinary. However, all the new houses along the course are detracting from that beauty. Still, well worth a try. After you play the course a few times you wonder, "with greens fees of $100, I can play this course once or four other nearby courses?" |

| Course was better before they built all the tacky modular homes. |
