This eighteen hole course is located on atypical hilly ground for the Dallas area. The greens are oversized with moderate breaks that offer a definite challenge and the opportunity to create multiple pin placements for variety. The fairways are very accommodating, without a great deal of forced carries, troublesome out-of-bounds areas, severe bunkering, or water hazards. Three or four holes have moderate elevation changes, while all of the fairways are characterized by a rolling and mounding design. There are two feature holes on this course. The signature hole is #11, a 372-yard, par 4, which has five sets of tees placed to where the distance remains the same, however, the angle to the green is dramatically changed from tee to tee. The course's postcard hole is #7, a 208-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over a beautifully brick-lined pond. Within the pond are islands with a variety of aquatic flowers. Construction on a 400-room, on-site hotel/conference center/spa is underway with a completion date set at 2001. Yardage is also marked by a GPS system on the carts. There are seven class A teaching professionals on the facility.

| Don't overlook this course! Played it several times and Castle Hills always presents a challenge, and is well maintained. Although billed as being a part of a hilly section of Dallas area, this course is offers a variety of terrain, true a little hilly and yet some holes give you the feel of a desert course. |
