The signature hole on this course is #16, a 440-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot between a large lake on the right side of the fairway and the oak trees looming on the left, then an approach shot past and over the same lake protecting the front and right sides of the green. "Golf Digest" rated this the 5th best (regarding playability) course in the state.

Too Tight, Jun 22, 2005
reviewer: Jim from Overland Park, Kansas
I have played a lot of courses in my 30 years of golfing, but no course was as tight as this one. I went OB 6 times, and all were out on about the 3rd bounce. I would not recommend this course.

Worst course in Kentucky, Jun 05, 2005
reviewer: Tim Needles from Prescott, Arizona
I golf all over the world, and this course is at the very bottom of my list to play. The reasons are simple. Too expensive, poor layout, and low morale of the club troops.

Stuffy Management, May 21, 2005
reviewer: Bob from Andover Resident
The course is too tight and the people running the club are arrogant towards non-members.

This course is way too tight and the club personnel were very cool toward non-members. I met the President of the club, and was not at all impressed with his attitude.

One of the Best, Jan 20, 2004
reviewer: Shawn Sowell from KY
Andover is certainly one the best course in the region. It is very challenging as well as one of the most beautiful courses around. The greens at peak season are like glass, the roughs will chew you up and cost additional strokes and the narrow fairways boarded by homes will make you shiver. Your score is determined how well you can over come the fear of taking a full swing or whimp out just to keep it in play. Not being an extra long course makes you contemplate the great shots instead of the smart ones. When you make a mistake take the bogey and go on to the next hole.
