This course has a nineteen-acre lake that comes into play on six holes, and there are even more ponds throughout the design. This course's fairways were built on gently rolling terrain. The most difficult hole is #6, a 410-yard, par 4, with the lake running the entire length of the hole on the left, and the landing area off the tee is guarded by a fairway bunker. The green slopes severely from left to right and back to front, and is guarded by bunkers on both sides. Weekend tee times must be reserved on the prior Wednesday. Members are the only people allowed to fish on this course's lake.

Allegheny Country Club
"Love It!"
Allegheny offers a very private, and enjoyable experience. The course is rarely busy, and offers a real challenge with the short stick. Many of the holes are a bit short, but if you can't putt, you will not score well. The ground are kept in immaculate condition, and the scenery, especially on the back nine, is breathtaking.

This is a great course kept in extremely good shape. It is a little far out from Houston but if you live anywhere on the north side, it's well worth the drive. It's inexpensive and not crowded, especially on weekdays. The greens are in very good shape and the course is challenging without being a killer.

"Phil Mickelson`s College Course..."
If Phil Mickelson honed his game here then you can imagine why hes so good. This course is very difficult if you dont hit the fairways, and if your drive is a little off your in trouble. This is a very tight driving type course, you must be in the fairway at all times, some holes are not as bad as others but some are hazardous to your golf game. I did not play well here, I am not a great player so after playing here I decided unless I get much better at this game I should avoid this course. The greens are extremly fast, I mean like putting on marble. The first hole is a good opening hole, if you hit the fairway your fine buuuuut, go left or right your in trouble. I hit my drive to the right as I am a lefty, i pull hooked my tee shot on to a mound, when I addresed the ball to hit it my right leg was up so high that I popped the ball straight up in to air and it went maybe 75 yds. already I was looking at bogie at best.... not a good beginning to my golf day. A great course non the less, your putting will be severly tested here...Have fun.....
