This relatively short course was built on rolling terrain. There is one pond that comes into play on hole #4, and very few trees lining the fairways. The toughest hole on the course is #9, a 500-yard, par 5, requiring a tee shot up a dogleg left fairway. Yardage markers are also located in the center of the fairways at 50 and 100 yards away from the center of the greens.

This course is only 9 holes but they are very beautiful, have bermuda fairways and the best greens in central Kentucky.

I have always enjoyed playing at Hickory Hills. Its rolling hills and country side views make the course enjoyable and peaceful. The first hole starts you out with a drive down the hill. From the tee you can see the entire layout of this par 4. Hole 2 is a short but tight par 4. This hole is drivable for long hitters, but watch out for the bunkers guarding the green. Number 3 is a 150 yard par 3 up hill. Hole 4 is the start of two blind tee shots. This par 4 is over water to an elevated fairway. Number 5 is the signature hole, with its simi blind tee shot and tight fairway. Don't stray to far left or you'll be in the clutches of BIG BERTHA!!! Hole 6 is the first par 5 hole on the course. Like the begining hole, 6 give you a wonderful layout of this dogleg left hole. Number 7 is long but open from tee to green. 8 is the second par 3 at Hickory Hills. 9 is the second par 5 and the second blind tee shot. This hilly par 5 is a great finishing hole. To the members and employess of H.H.C.C. I have enjoyed your course for many years. Keep up the good work and can't wait to return and play your wonderful course again. Thanks

Laguna Lake Golf Course
"Not Fancy, But Fun!"
A tricky little course, designed by someone that knew their business. Shots over trees in the middle of the fairway, elevated, tricky (and fast) greens add to the enjoyment of this 9-hole course. Definitely recommended for golfers that like a bit of a challenge on shorter holes. The greens and fairways are in excellent shape, and the overall course is very well maintained. For the price, this course is an unbeatable value.

"Worth the trip"
This course is easily the best course I have played. It's on a par with Blackwolf Run and the other Kohler courses at a fraction of the price. This course has a spectacular setting. It winds up and around Iron Mountain, and is a marvel of course design. Despite the elevation changes, only one hole plays uphill. The holes are cut out of the mountain side and winding cart paths take you to the next level, and hole, until you reach numbers 9 and 17, both of which play straight downhill (as does 18, a 600 yard par five with 3 terraced fairways). The grooming is immaculate and each hole is separated from the others by woods or water. Even on a busy day it feels like you're the only golfers on the course. The staff is friendly and efficient and the course is nicely rangered. As you play the course, you will marvel both at the quality of the experience and the incredible engineering required during construction. Rates have been in the $50-60 range for the past several years and its the best golf bargain you can find. This is a course you could play every day and it would remain interesting. The fairways and greens compare with any PGA site. This is one not to miss.

Cold Springs Golf & Country Club
"Customer Service, can make a day."
I recently went and played the small country club in eastern California, at the end of the summer. The Pro Keith Rader was extremely kind helping me find the place. The staff appeared to be a little grungy when I got there Larry a staff employee, while not the best looking gentleman was one of the nicest people there. The assistant a tall, upbeat young man always smileing had a few good pointers for my golf game. Though I don't remember his name I am sure we will see him further his golf career, he really seemed to know his stuff. Thanks to Cold Springs, and what an enjoyable day

Del Monte Golf Course
"Del Monte -- Fun and touch -- old school"
Great course, classic layout, old style, just a wonderful golf experience. I've played Old Del Monte many times. It is a slightly shorter and yet just as fun older brother to several of the other Monterey/Carmel area courses. Oldest golf course west of the Mississippi River, it is close to the Monterey airport, close to hotels, and provides a wonderful, old-feel idea of what it was like to play on courses before big land movers shapped and sculpted the ground. It is fun to play, fun to hang around at the pro-shop/coffee shop. Just a really neat golfing experience.
