This course features wide-open fairways and medium-sized greens that are hard to read. Many of the greens and two of the fairways are well bunkered. There is water that comes into play twice from the men's tees and once from the ladies' tee. X.G. Hassenplug added nine new holes and redesigned the others in 1965.

Great Course!, May 16, 2004

Ligonier is simply a great course. It isn't very long, but it's shortness is made up for with extremely difficult greens. There are many spectacular views of southwestern Pennsylvania. The course employees are very helpful and polite. The professional is extremely kind and can answer nearly any question. I would recommend this course to anyone who is looking for a challenging round, beautiful surroundings and an extemely well-kept course.

One of the best golf courses in the country. Very well balanced holes. equal amounts of doglegs left and right. Lengths vary so that almost every club in the bag is used. The rough is three feet tall if you miss the fairways. Very tough but very fair. Just simply one of the best in the USA.
