This course has level fairways that are lined by large trees. Water hazards (fifteen individual ponds) come into play on all eighteen holes. The signature hole is #7, a 433-yard, par 4, requiring an approach shot to a large, elevated green. All of the greens and tees are elevated. Since the middle tee is constantly changing positions, the yardage varies from 5,600 to 6,000 yards. The course installed new ball washers and an irrigation system in 1997. This course offers an afternoon special that allows two players (with cart) to play for a discounted fee.

Short but Challanging, Jul 29, 2008
reviewer: Allan, Leader of the Wacker League from Wanaque Reserve, NJ
I must mention how nice The Meadows course is becoming. It may not be long but it can be challenging if you don't keep the ball straight. I remember when this was a cow pasture. The fairways are in great shape, the bunkers are consistent, and the greens are well maintained. A big thanks to the owner Hank and his assistants Dennis, Pat and the maintenance crew. Yes, I agree there always can be improvements like port-a-johns and drinking water on the course, first cut rough so you have a chance if the ball rolls through the fairway to stop before the high grass second cut and slightly faster greens. But it is a jewel and fun for every kind of handicapper. I play here in a small league every week and have gotten to enjoy this playable course.

I Paid $79 For This?!?!?! , Apr 07, 2008
reviewer: NNJ Golfer from Bergen County, NJ
This course is a disgrace. They are not accepting tee times, I was told it is "too early" in the season. They have no starter or rangers on the course. The greens and tee boxes had just been aerated - most are in poor condition. The lay out of the course is dangerous. On at least 5 occasions myself or one of my playing partners had a ball land within 10 yards of them (very rarely did anyone yell out Fore, etc!). A couple of the fairways were unplayable due to them being under water. The cart paths are in terrible condition - overall, absolutely the worst drainage I've seen on a golf course. Not to mention a number of holes are under construction. All in all a poor course in every aspect. How they have the nerve to charge $79 for a course with this many current issues is beyond laugable - as mentioend earlier it's a disgrace!

Good place for starters, Feb 02, 2008
reviewer: Jonathan from Lincoln Park NJ
The course is short but not bad from the Blues. Good place to bring someone new to the game for two reasons. 1. Playing from the whites it's very short 2. The price is so high that not many people are on the course, so you'll never have people behind waiting. Its not a bad place to practice different shots cause the course is never crowded.

the cows got out of the barn, May 14, 2004
reviewer: David Levy from NJ
not too exciting, pretty short, and surrounded with generally bad golfers. good place to go and learn, becasue it is hard to get in trouble as long as you stay out of the water hazards. Overpriced, especially on weekends
