This course opened in early 1997 and is laid out nicely. The signature hole is #5, a 470-yard, par 5, requiring the tee shot to carry 245 yards over water. The rest of the hole plays uphill and a birdie is possible with a good drive. Water also comes into play on several other holes.

I play this course all the time and it is a great course. The greens are very smooth and fast. It's very nice to be only a few years old.

Rocky Branch, Jul 04, 2004

I love this course, in fact it is my favorite. I rank it above Jones Creek, Gordon Lakes, Forest Hills, Westlake, Palmetto (yes, that is "THE Palmetto" in Aiken), Persimmon Hill and Sandles in Ocho Rios, Jamacia to name a few; and all of those courses are mighty fine places to play golf in my book. My Criteria: course management and upkeep, customer relations/satisfaction, availability, cost AND...I just like it, It fits me like a glove. Rocky Branch is extremely well laid out. Open rolling fairways are easy to see and stay on, but this course is no slouch, it presents challenges with well placed water hazards, sand traps, and fearce dog legs. All of which makes the golfer think his/her game out. I couldn't ask for a better place to play! Congrates Rocky Branch you have my vote. I'll make the drive to Lincolnton anytime to play this course!!!

Very nice in comparison to some of the donkey trails in the area. Can not beat it for the money. Some what secluded and quiet.
