This course's front nine is shorter than its back nine. On hole #2, a 150-yard, par 3, a pond must be carried off the tee to reach the large green. The back nine is tight and features water hazards coming into play on at least five occasions, most notably on hole #10, a 560-yard, par 5, which has a pond sitting to the left of the green.

A mini vacation. You won't see this scenery in florida. Courses like this one are the reason some of us try to play the game. A camera will help describe it to your friends. FORE stars !

Always play well there, Aug 03, 2004

This course is not only a joy to play but is one of the most beautiful courses that you will see. There are thousands of flowers including New Guinea Impatiens strategically planted every where on the course. It is worth renting a cart just to ride arround and see the flowers. I play the course once a year when I visit my home town of East Liverpool and it always brings out the best in me. This year I shot 90. This is not bad for a person with a 31 handicap. This year the fees were $23 before 1:00 P.M. during the week for 18 holes and a motorized cart. You can't beat that.

This course is offers a challenge for the more experienced golfer and yet is not overwhelming to the not so avid golfers. Very nice owners.

Hilltop Country Club
"Neatest course in Texas"
I went and played a round of golf at the Hilltop Country Club last week for the first time. It was an expereince,the course is set up real cool. I was a high school golfer who would have loved to get out of school and walk to go play golf rather than riding 30 minutes on a bus to and from practice everyday. The course is on the grounds of Troup ISD.And after I got finished playing golf I walked to the 19th and had a cold budlight.The bar has what ever you want,and the ladies were so nice.

Liberty Country Club
"Great Condition and Layout"
This course has a beautiful layout and hole construction. Similar to the old "country club" style courses, this smaller operation club gets the job done with what must be a low budget because the course is just in outstanding shape. The bent-grass fairways look good all year round and maintain their grass even in the hot summer afternoons of August. They also had great deals available for play during the week and for people wanting to have an outing. I'm definitely going to play at the Liberty Country Club again.

Lakeland Hills Golf Course
"Getting better every day"
Lakeland is a great course for the money. New owners took over is 2002 or so. Hard to remember because we don't play it regularly. They have added new features every year, trees, bridges, new tee boxes, etc.The front nine is fairly open, hard to get into too much trouble. Watch out for some water. We prefer the back nine. It's a little more hilly, still has some water. Nothing to worry about. Lakeland has the best drainage of any course we have ever seen. It is open unless there is snow on the ground. We have played this course in Feb., when a winter thaw and 50 degree days suprized us all. Just played in on Jan 3, 2004 when we has another winter warm spell. Jackson has lots and lots of great courses. No one would ever be disappointed taking a golfing holiday in Jackson, Michigan.
