Still Good Value, Oct 31, 2009 |

| This course is great value for Ocean county residents, with weekday green fees below $20. although better maintenance will hlep, the course in genral is not as bad as other critics stated. Water hazard comes into play on several holes before the green, & break up the otherwise monotonous nature of the course. You still need to bring your decent game due to the length of the course. Bugs are a problem starting summer, & play involves crossing a busy road twice. All considered, still great value ! |

Getting Better in 2009, Aug 19, 2009 |

| I wrote a rather less than complimentary review in 2008 and am happy to say that Ocean County has come up with a few bucks and the Atlantis course is actually improving. The rains this year have done wonders to keep the fairways and greens from frying and as a result, the course has improved considerably. It still is not on par with the Northern Jersey County courses, but it is improving and that is a good sign. My compliments to those who are involved in making the course better. Now the course is quite playable from tee to green and many of the woeful tee boxes of the past year are nicely repaired. Greens, with a few exceptions, are much better than last year. The course is challenging (slope 129 from middle tees) and not lady friendly. They could REALLY use a few tees more forward of the present red tees. Nevertheless, I am proud, as an Ocean County resident, to see efforts to improve our favorite local course. Give it a try, the sixth hole alone is worth the price of admission! |

Needs Work!, Sep 29, 2008 |

| I have played Atlantis a great many times over the last 10 years. It is sad to see the course going downhill year by year. I am sure that Ocean County simply does not supply the funding needed to maintain even a basic quality course. The local residents are also very hard on the course, carving up the greens with motorbikes and even spreading toxic chemicals on the greens for spite. It is sad. The course is good for practice because it causes you to hit on poor surfaces, hardpan lies, deep but spotty rough, and greens of mixed grasses. It is still a great bargain for Ocean County Taxpayers so if you just want to get out and get a practice round in, and don't care much about the condition of the course, you can have fun there. The Spring is the best time to play, because the course is not as beat up at that time. |

NOT IN GOOD SHAPE, Apr 22, 2007 |

| Course is not in very good shape. Greens are poorly kept with bare spots and ridges. Fairways have a lot of bare spots and Tee boxes are not cut properly and uneven. I have played on a lot of NJ County courses and this one is by far the worse. Doesn't come up to Union and Middlesex County courses. |

Challenging but Fair, May 26, 2004 |
| reviewer: Art Cecchini
from Bridgewater, NJ USA |
| As stated in the title this course is challenging but fair. Starting out on the first hole you are presented with a wide fairway and no trouble. The green is long and narrow guarded by a bunker on the right. The second hole is basically the same with the fairway being pinched by trees on the right and a bunker on the left. The first two holds allow you to warm up as the course becomes increasingly more difficult. Most all holes going forward have treelined fairways that are "Challenging but Fair". All greens are well guarded with bunkers, water or both. You'll not play any bump and runs here. Every par 3 is a challenge, and Par 5s are long and difficult to reach in two. Bring your "A" game or you will rack up some numbers. Highly recommended Bring bug spray. It is south jersey |
