This course features water hazards coming into play on seventeen holes. Hole #17, a 226-yard, par 3, was rated as one of the top twenty most difficult holes in Colorado by the "Colorado Golf Associates." This hole has water running the entire length of the right side and players must carry the ball over a portion of the water hazard to reach the well-protected green off the tee.

Simply the most challenging course in the Metro area. The course is usually in good shape but scruffy sand traps are being re-done this year. Racoon Creek is my favorite public course in the Metro area.

Decent course but the lack of flexibility on the course policies ruin an otherwise decent experience. We got to the middle of the 2nd fairway only to be ran off due to lighting and rain. They wouldn't cut us a break on the fees and charged us for playing. I won't be back again and would rather play where they value the relationship between the golfer and the course.

St. Clair Shores Country Club
"Great Shape - Slow Play"
I've been playing St. Clair Shores Country Club since 1983. Over the years the quality of the course, ie: fairways, greens and overall layout of the course had improved greatly. It's a fine course to play for all levels. The better golfer may find it a bit short. Most par 4's are in the low to mid 300's. The course is mainly flat, but offers many different obsticles. Plenty of sand makes up for the flat layout. Water also poses problems on several holes. Hole #14, a mid range par three, requires a full carry over water. The main problem with St. Clair Shores Country Club is the SLOW PLAY. The course rangers, while very nice, do not do their job properly. In fact, over the past 20 years, they've gotten progresively worse. So don't expect any help if your stuck behind a group that take's more time than normal. Remeber, it's not a race. At least that's what I tell myself each time I go out to St. Clair Shores Country Club. Needless to say, it gets a bit frustrating at times. In conclusion, the course is maintained quite well. If you can get out on a weekday morning that would be the best time to enjoy your round. The rates are about mid $40's for 18 holes and a cart.

Antelope Valley Country Club
"Visitor to Anetlope Valley CC"
Antelope Valley CC golf course is a fun and challenging experience. Wind makes the course play tough in the afternoon. It is realitively flat and provides the abilility to walk with little difficulty. Many challenging holes, several with water, and views of the local desert and Joshua Trees are great. The amenities of the club are first rate. New clubhouse, staff that is freindly and attentive, and quality food and beverages all help to make a great golfing experience.

Augusta Golf Course
"A fun course for the price."
Augusta Municipal Golf Course, affectionately known as "The Cabbage Patch" certainly isn't in the same league as its "big brother" on Washington Road, or even some of the more expensive public courses (The River, Jones Creek) in the Augusta area. However, that doesn't mean it's not a fun (and at times, very challenging) course to play. Greens range from very forgiving early in spring to harsh and very tight in summer and mid-winter. Fairways are narrow enough to provide a challenge off the tee on most holes. Rough is punishing throughout the course - so do your best to keep your ball out of it! Course upkeep can leave something to be desired, especially on weekends in spring and early summer. Don't be put off by the course's short length - you'll still find plenty of opportunity to hit every club in the bag. However, the short length does make for a good chance to walk the course and save a few bucks. Be sure to call for a tee time first, expecially on the weekends. New renovations to the clubhouse and a WONDERFUL staff add to the enjoyment of playing this cheap, fun, popular course where dozens of kids, students, and beginning adults have gotten their first taste of the game.

Foxwood Country Club
"Runofthemill"
I found Foxwood to be a course that could use some improvements. However, I did enjoy playing this course and the layout. The employees were true pros. The course is shaded with many trees which allows you to hone your placement skills. This course surely is a diamond in the rough.
