This club has three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. The holes are carved through the rolling hills of the southern Livermore Valley wine country. Wind that typically blows from the northwest dictates play on these courses. The three nines are all similar in length and design and have fairways that are sculpted into valleys at the base of shaggy, dune-like hills. The landing areas are roomy, though white sand bunkers will snare errant drives. Water comes into play on one hole on the Merlot Course and on four on the Chardonnay Course. "Private Passion"
This is a terrific course that offers golfers of all abilities a challenge. Beautiful views, great greens and terrific golf. Many of the par 4's will challenge a good ball striker to go for the green...be careful, it's not as passive as it looks. The 5's are all long and offer plenty of scoring opportunities. Wide fairways but small greens make the approach shots important. The greens are smallish and require respectable shot making...practice your short game before playing..Be sharp! The new clubhouse, open summer 2004, will be a terrific improvement. It's going to be massive and it will certanly be beautiful.

"Beautiful and challenging old-style course"
This a beautiful, scenic golf course which will challenge every golfer, regardless of handicap. The maturity of this course, which includes huge oak trees and large shade trees, gives the impression of walking in a park, with the added enjoyment of playing golf. Even though the length of the course is short by modern standards, that is where the challenge lies. Drives must be accurate, and pitch shots precise. The greens are deceptive and fast, and are well-bunkered. The clubhouse is very well-planned, with great views of the course from the men's lounge and dining room areas. The men's locker room has been remodeled, and I guarantee that Luis, the locker room chief, will never forget your name. He is a wonder. One golfing visit to this club will make you wish you could live in the area so that you could apply for membership -- it is a memorable golfing experience.

"A Real Challenge"
The course is well kept. The greens are extremely fast, so keep your ball below the cup on aproach! Keep it in the short stuff or you will pay for it. Some unique holes that prove to be difficult time after time, such as the "Gauntlet".
