| The most challenging aspect on this course is its narrow fairways. However, this is not a bad thing as it really makes you focus on a straight drive. the holes to me seem tightly run together and when i play there i feel crowded by the groups in front and behind. If you are not a straight driver... leave the driver home and bring an extra wedge or something. |

| Oak Run golf course on Rte 78 just outside the city of Lockport is A nicely layed out course.
The layout is challenging and overall challenging to all levels of golfers.
Pros - Nice club house. Nice staff.
Cons - Fairways and Greens are not maintained to spec. the grass is sparse and the greens are mowed terribly. Bent Grass greens take getting used to.. but they need to maintained at a higher level of detail to make them true.
They Need to be rolled more often. they could mow them a little tighter to speed up the roll of the ball. Same goes for the fairways. They need to keep seeding and seeding the course to make the course itself a plusher but finer golf experience. as horrible as the course is.. play winter rules all year long. Tired of playing on hard pan all the time, because you're in the fairway and it is not on grass but hard clay.. so much for that nice divot!
It should not try to match the course across the street when it comes to money.. they are not even in the same league... |
