Skylinks Golf Course

Skylinks is a fun and easy course. Most of the fairways are tree lined, but they are still somewhat open. However, if you wish to score well, you'll need to make some lengthy shots. For example, hole #18, a 428-yard, par 4, typically plays directly into the wind. Because the course is located next to the Long Beach Airport, there aren't many obstacles to block the wind. Selecting the proper clubs on windy days is one of the more challenging aspects to playing this course. There are two beautiful lakes that come into play on three holes. The large greens are generally in fair condition and somewhat sloped. The Queen Mary Open is held here every year.

Everything is relative. And as someone who has lived and played golf courses in the South Bay for 20 years, I can honestly say that Skylinks is well worth the green fees for an L.A. course. Very nice risk/reward on a few sharp dog legs. Greens are challenging but read true. Course rewards target play and smart golf. And if $65 (including GPS cart) is too much for you, stick to putt-putt golf. Big boys can afford that. 99% of you will enjoy a day at this course.

Long Beach has not done any one a favor with this overpriced remodel. The layout is well done but the overall condition of the course and the greens is weak at best. Now throw in the ridiculous green fees, a holier than attitude from the pro shop staff and you have an experience that I will not repeat.

Very crowded and overpriced. Fivesomes are typical. Greens are horrible with more poorly repaired ball marks than grass... :(
