This course is surrounded by a lake, but it doesn't come into play. There is another lake called West Boggs Lake that catches the runoff from the nearby dam. This runoff comes into play on the first hole. This is a predominantly flat course but there are some hills. The average-sized greens are well-bunkered and protected by grass bunkers. Tee times are only reserved for the weekends.

A Joy to Play, May 28, 2008

This course has improved tremendously over the last 10 years to be the 9-hole course of choice for golfers in the area. The greens are reputed to be the best to be found anywhere around. The course attracts locals as well as many campers, boaters and fishermen who come to the adjoining West Boggs Park.

Griffith Park Golf Courses - Wilson Course
"wonderful"
wonderful greens and fairways, every hole was definitely unique and fairly challenging. We were able to find an opening to play on the course on a busy day without making a reservation. Allowed us to bring a spectator, with a price of course. Played both courses and would definitely come back. The only set-back was...there wasn't a beverage cart in sight and the play was pretty slow, had to wait for other players. Overall experience was great and would recommend to others.

"Beautiful and challenging old-style course"
This a beautiful, scenic golf course which will challenge every golfer, regardless of handicap. The maturity of this course, which includes huge oak trees and large shade trees, gives the impression of walking in a park, with the added enjoyment of playing golf. Even though the length of the course is short by modern standards, that is where the challenge lies. Drives must be accurate, and pitch shots precise. The greens are deceptive and fast, and are well-bunkered. The clubhouse is very well-planned, with great views of the course from the men's lounge and dining room areas. The men's locker room has been remodeled, and I guarantee that Luis, the locker room chief, will never forget your name. He is a wonder. One golfing visit to this club will make you wish you could live in the area so that you could apply for membership -- it is a memorable golfing experience.

Sharp Park Golf Course

Sharp Park is a city owned course. Extremly reasonable rates. Twilight rate in the summer is about $5.00!!! What a value. It's an older course, fairly flat, easily walked, although carts are available. Several years ago the course was redesigned. Several holes were lengthened, a beautiful pond was added. It only comes into play on one hole and only on the mens tees. Due to the reasonable rates, the course has players of all skill levels.
