Hard Test, Best Value, Apr 14, 2010
reviewer: Frimodig from Michigan
I don't know about the catering side of the business. Out of a group of 300, it's likely to get at least one of them unhappy. As for the golf, it's by far the best value in the area. Perhaps not as buttery of fairways as the $100.00 courses, yet the layout and variety is outstanding. Long, and challenging. Very well maintained course. I've never had a round where I thought I'd had enough. The staff is always friendly, and looking out for you. It's hard not to want to turn around and play another 18.

Do not have your wedding here!, Oct 05, 2008
reviewer: Stacey from Grand Rapids, MI
I went to a wedding here a couple days ago and I just have to say that the lady in charge of going table to table and carding people is out of control! This was an adult reception and I'm in the middle of eating my dinner and she asked for my ID! Not only did she did that but she was circling the parking lot making sure no one was drinking in their cars! She made everyone very uncomfortable and every one was disappointed in the venue!

good course, Apr 28, 2004
reviewer: Gary Pingel from Eagle MI
This is a NICE course. Kept in good shape and it is long. For a bogey player this is a real challange with all the water and the carry it takes. Price is very reasonable. This is not the fanciest place you will ever play but for the money and the actual golf you get is a bargin. I do not know what the one guy is talking about. I guess if all you want to do is play nine they are not going to let you go off the back very often, but play 18 if you want to go to the back. The back is damn hard period. For the average player you won't play the last three holes in much less than 5 over and that is if you are doing pretty good on them.

Great challenge and better service, Mar 27, 2004
reviewer: Andy from Grand Rapids, MI
This guy must be crazy giving Deer Run one star. Very unpretentious course, yet very challenging. Length will catch your eye before the round, but the difficulty is really in the greens. #4 you are lucky not to putt it off the green if you are putting above the hole. Best area course for the money. Back 9 much harder than the front nine. #12 480 yards, #13 460 second shot all carry over pond, both holes par 4's

Great Banquet Center, Mar 22, 2004
reviewer: Michelle from Lowell, Mi USA
Wow i am so excited about the banquet center! It is so great! The servers are very nice and welcoming! The food is out of this world! I would recommend this to anyone if you are having a wedding or anything! The banquet manager is very nice! And let me say that the back nine was great! I saw three deer there.

Awful customer service., Mar 02, 2004
reviewer: S.N. from Kentwood, MI USA
This course has a nice front nine. As for the back nine... well, that's another story. I haven't met a person yet that has golfed their back nine. I have called many, many times well in advanced for tee times and have requested the back nine, but I haven't had any luck. The manager is so rude that the first time I was at this course I heard him yell at a group because they wanted to know why they couldn't golf the back nine. In fact it is so hard to get on the back nine that it isn't uncommon to have to wait 2-hours to get on the course if you don't get a tee-time in advance. The funny thing is that the front could be so over crouded and there isn't a soul on the back. I even made a comment to the pro at the Grand Rapids golf show, and he just kind of laughed. I would never recommend this course.
