This course's oceanside location provides a scenic view. From the green on hole #9, the ocean is about 100 yards away. The fairways are mostly flat, but there are some hills on the back nine. Some of the tees and greens are elevated. There are sand bunkers on just about every green. The course is closed on Tuesdays until noon. Geoffrey Cornish and Brian Silva redesigned this course in 1985.

A small and wonderful gem, Mar 08, 2004

The Madsion Country Club is located near Long Island sound in a very open and pleasnt setting. The course is always kept in wondeful condition and the greens are just magnificent. The front nine is relatively flat and open, with water coming into play on three of the holes. The back nie is a bit more of a challenge because of the more undulating topography and trees. Little wonder why the club has a huge waitng list.

Waterlefe Golf & River Club
"Waterlefe - Exceptional Winter Golf Experience"
The first thing you notice about Waterlefe Golf and River Club is the beautiful landscaping aligning the drive to the clubhouse. The course is no different. It was in exceptional condition. We played the ball down with no alibies. While the "High Season" rates are a bit steep,(they include a sleeve of Pro V1's), the course could not have been in better shape. The Tifeagle greens, a form of Bermuda which requires no winter rye overseed, were in mid-summer form, even in February, and arguably the finest greens of any course anywhere. There are a number of holes which require a significant "carry" over either water or other non-playable terrain, so it may provide more challenge than most high handicappers prefer. Play about the course moved well and we saw the ranger numerous times throughout the round. Interestingly, the sign on the ranger's cart reads "player assistance." The carts are equipped with GPS which provided us with almost all the distance and hole layout information we needed to play the correct shots. My partner and I played with two member/residents, Gary and Angelo, who were friendly and helpful, as was the staff. The layout was well designed, providing some breathtaking views, and did not resemble the typical flat Florida concept. I highly recommend this course to anyone who craves the high-end country club experience without having to actually join one.

"slippery greens"
Greens are fast, Stay below the pin. Best to play late in the day. Lots of wild life. deer, turkeys,swans ,ducks etc. So far no snakes. Great People, friendly, Driving range So-So # 3 green is tuff to read Look out

Knight's Play Golf Center
"One of the best Par-3's I have played on."
This place is great, I am a mid-handicapper, and a couple of my buddies and I decided to play a par-3 for fun, and we were lucky to find this place. For one they are open all day, they aren't to expensive, and they take care of their par-3 like it was a course on the tour. Definitely recommend.

Spring Hills Golf Course
"This course is a hidden gem"
Spring Hills golf course is well worth the money. The course is generally in good condition and the atmosphere is great. The staff are extremely helpful ans one can feel at home here immmediately. The first four holes are difficult, particularly number 2 if played from the back tee. After that the holes are easier with the exception of number 8 where the approach is tough and the green slopes viciously from back to front. It is a lot of fun to play and well worth the price. The pace of play is generally better than the pace at other area courses, and on weekends if you tee off before 8, a round takes less than 4 hours. It is not fancy, but it is fun. Note the course condition is much better than it was a few years ago, so if you hear otherwise, ask the person when they played thecourse.
